Leduc Alberta

Why Leduc

Leduc is more than just the place where we are having our wedding celebration. For me ( Nathan), it is home. It is where my story started.

I was born and raised here. This is where I grew up, where I learned who I was, and where so much of my life was shaped. It is also where my faith first began to take root. My Christian walk started here, surrounded by family, community, and the people who helped guide me along the way.

My mom is a big part of that story. She served as a lay pastor and was deeply involved in St. David’s United Church before later helping plant Millwoods United Church. Her faith, strength, and love shaped so much of the man I am today, and that legacy still stays with me.

Leduc is also important to me because it is where so much of my family history rests. The garden holds people who mean a great deal to me, including my mother, my grandfather, and my great-grandparents. Being there always reminds me of where I come from, the foundation that was laid before me, and the legacy I carry forward.

That is a big reason why Helena and I chose to celebrate here. We wanted this day to be about more than just the future we are building together. We also wanted it to honour the people, the faith, and the history that helped shape us.

For me, Leduc is not just a backdrop for this celebration. It is part of my story. It feels right to begin this next chapter here, in a place filled with so much meaning, memory, and love.
